"Tuscany is a dream that keeps returning for the rest of your life."

Where We’ll Be

A large house with a pinkish exterior, yellow archways at the front entrance, and windows with lights on, surrounded by tall trees and a well-maintained grassy lawn during dusk or early evening.

THE VILLA IL POGGIALE, SAN CASCIANO in VAL di PESA

Villa il Poggiale is a historic Renaissance‑era estate nestled in the gentle hills of Tuscany, just outside the town of San Casciano in Val di Pesa. Surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, and classic Chianti countryside — cypress trees standing sentinel like brush strokes on a Tuscan landscape — the villa feels like a living painting, suspended in time yet fully alive in the present.

Villa il Poggiale is a place steeped in history and beauty — and offering every comfort modern artists need to create.

A spacious, well-lit vintage-style bedroom with elegant decor, a canopy bed with striped bedding, a pink area rug, a writing desk with a chair near a window, and classic framed artwork on the walls.

ROOMS

The villa is a genuine historic residence, with period architecture, timeless charm, and rooms restored with care to preserve Renaissance character while respecting contemporary comfort.

Guest rooms and suites feature thoughtful touches: en‑suite bathrooms, comfortable furnishings, wood‑beam ceilings, and tasteful décor infused with Tuscan warmth.

Each room includes modern conveniences: Wi‑Fi, climate control, safety, and amenities that let you rest, recharge, and focus on creative work.

Swimming pool in a backyard with a view of green hills, trees, and flowering bushes under a clear blue sky.

THE VILLA

The villa lends itself to community & conviviality: common rooms, shared meals, and relaxed evenings create the type of intimacy and cross‑disciplinary exchange that transform a “workshop” into a salon, a community, a new creative family.

Villa il Poggiale sits just outside San Casciano in Val di Pesa, in the heart of Tuscany’s Chianti region. It’s roughly 17 km from Florence — about a 20‑25 minute drive — offering both the serenity of the countryside and easy access to one of the world’s cultural capitals.

Please note that as a genuine historic building, there are many stairs and steps that give it tremendous charm, but creates challenges for those with mobility issues. Please let us know if you have any questions.

THE ESTATE

The estate includes spacious, landscaped grounds — fields, olive groves, vineyards, and rolling hills — offering both serenity and inspiration for painters, writers, and musicians.

An outdoor swimming pool, surrounded by greenery and shaded by trees, invites restful afternoons, quiet reading, or relaxed conversations at sunset.

A dedicated wellness center/spa on‑site offers treatments rooted in the region’s natural bounty — using grapes, olives, honey, citrus, and essential oils — ideal for decompressing after deep creative sessions.

Sauna, whirlpool, and relaxation spaces give participants a chance to care for body and spirit, aligning with the restorative aims of a creative retreat.
